At Sunshade head office in the awesome Hawke’s Bay, NZ, we are a 100% family-owned New Zealand fabrication business with a grass-roots history.
Our team is led by fabricators with decades of experience in the trade, bringing a distinct eye for detail in every shade sail and outdoor blind that we create.
Our workshop is purpose-designed, offering our people a generous space to lay out the shade cloth and custom fabricate the screens. We have a team of on-site fabricators who really know their stuff, and a centralised location for quality-control of the whole process.
Our workshop operates under a Lean management system of continuous improvement, and we have a high product quality record which we measure and monitor daily.
The industry we work in is a highly supportive one, which we stay abreast with as members of the Advanced Textiles Association of New Zealand (ATA NZ), and the international Advanced Textiles Association (ATA).
Our work (and that of our network of local experts) has won several national awards over the years, which you can check out on their individual profiles.
Additionally, several of our apprentices have won or achieved high commendations at the ATA NZ Apprentice of the Year Awards from the 90’s to today, and we continue to support new craftspeople to come up through the industrial textiles trade and ensure this valuable skillset is passing on and thriving.
